Starter troubles...

Since I last left you, we have gotten the truck started.

We replaced the carburetor, the cap, points, plugs, plug wires, fuel pump, fuel filter, and battery.

Then it would start only if you hotwired it. Dad suggested the starter, so I took it out cleaned it (that is cleaned the contacts inside it) replaced. Not any better...

Chase took the starter out, we took it to the shop and had them bench test it. It’s good Sir.

Talk to guy at parts store, told him about the burned wire going to this little relay. "Sounds like the horn relay is bad” so we replaced it and now it starts anytime!

So we have started on the breaks. Not a good Idea to drive without breaks.

We replaced the master cylinder.

On the back left replaced the pads, the spring clips, put in a wheel cylinder kit and replaced the parking break cable.

On the right just the pads and put in a wheel cylinder kit.

Started bleeding the brakes.

Once we finish bleeding the back we will replace the pads and put cylinder kits in each of the front.

The engine will run as long as we wanted, but burns smoke something bad.

Thus we want to be able to take it out of the garage to let it run, hoping that the burning smoke with go away. I don’t have a lot of hope; I think I will have to put in an engine kit. That is replacing the rings and gaskets. The top half has already been rebuilt and is in good shape. Just piston rings seem bad.

Chase getting real good at replacing the starter.
